What the Calendar Shows
The Market Calendar is your central planning tool for the Colombo Stock Exchange. It displays the full month at a glance, with colour-coded indicators for dividend ex-dates, CSE public holidays, and the last trading day of each month. Navigate forward and backward between months using the arrow controls at the top.
Navigating Between Months
Use the left and right arrows to move between months. The calendar animates smoothly so you always know which direction you are moving. Click any day cell to expand the event detail panel on the right, which shows everything happening on that date.
Dividend Filters
At the top of the calendar you will find four dividend view options: None, Portfolio, Watchlist, and All. Selecting Portfolio shows ex-dates only for stocks you hold. Watchlist limits to your tracked symbols. All reveals every announced dividend across the entire market.
Set the dividend filter to Portfolio before the start of each month to instantly see which of your holdings have upcoming ex-dates. You will not miss a dividend window again.
Holiday Markers
Days when the CSE is closed are clearly marked with a label showing the holiday name. Market hours are Monday to Friday, 9:20am to 2:40pm SLST. The calendar accounts for all Sri Lankan public holidays including Poya days, National Day, and Christmas.
Last Trading Day Markers
The last trading day of each month is flagged directly on the calendar cell. This matters for dividend eligibility cutoffs, month-end portfolio rebalancing, and institutional fund flow patterns that often appear in the final session of the month.
End-of-Day Summaries
Click any past trading day to view the EOD summary panel. This shows the day's top gainers and losers, total market turnover, advance/decline ratio, and the greed index reading recorded at close. Use this to review what happened on a specific date without leaving the calendar.
Week Start Preference
You can switch the calendar between Monday-first and Sunday-first layout in the settings panel. The preference is saved automatically in your browser so it persists between sessions.
