The Notification Overload Problem
When every notification demands attention, none of them get proper attention. Investors who receive 15 to 20 alerts per day start ignoring them. The solution is not turning off alerts — it is designing alert rules that fire only when something genuinely decision-relevant has happened.
Rules for Setting Meaningful Thresholds
If you received more than 5 alerts in a single session, audit your thresholds. Five actionable alerts per day is already challenging to respond to. More than that suggests some rules need their thresholds adjusted outward.
Pause Inactive Rules
If you are not actively trading for a period — on holiday, during a personal busy period, or simply sitting in cash — pause your most sensitive alert rules. Receiving alerts you cannot act on wastes your monthly quota and creates a backlog of unreviewed notifications that erodes confidence in the system.
