Choosing the Right Chart Period on Investography

The Investography stock chart offers five time periods. Choosing the right one for your analytical purpose makes a significant difference in what you can see and interpret.

The Five Available Periods

The Investography stock chart offers 7-day, 30-day, 90-day, 180-day, and 1-year views. Each serves a different analytical purpose. Choosing the right period depends on whether you are making a short-term, medium-term, or long-term assessment of the stock.

When to Use Each Period

Develop a habit of checking at least two chart periods before setting any alert. Use the 30-day view for short-term level identification and the 1-year view for broader context. Alerts set with awareness of both timeframes are more strategically grounded.

Matching Chart Period to Alert Strategy

If you are setting a breakout alert, identify the breakout level on the 30-day or 90-day chart where the consolidation is most visible. If you are setting a stop-loss alert, use the 90-day or 1-year chart to identify the major support level that the stop should be placed below. Short-term alert levels need short-term chart context. Long-term levels need longer timeframes.
