The Difference Between Watchlist and Portfolio Filters
The Portfolio filter shows ex-dates for stocks you currently hold. The Watchlist filter shows ex-dates for stocks you are monitoring but may not yet own. This distinction matters when you are researching new positions — you can track dividend timing for prospective buys without adding them to your portfolio.
Building a Dividend-Focused Watchlist
Researching Before You Buy
If you are considering adding a dividend stock to your portfolio, add it to your watchlist first. Switch the Calendar to Watchlist view to see when the next ex-date falls. This lets you time your entry before the ex-date if dividend capture is part of your plan, or after if you want to avoid buying at a pre-ex-date premium.
Keep a short watchlist of CSE high-yield stocks. Flip to the Calendar Watchlist view monthly to see which ones have ex-dates coming up. This gives you a regular prompt to evaluate entry without having to research each stock manually.
Switching Between Views
You can switch between None, Portfolio, Watchlist, and All filters at any time without losing your month view. The calendar updates instantly. Use All when you want a complete picture of the market's dividend calendar for the month, then narrow back to Watchlist or Portfolio when you want to focus on your own names.
